Marion Walter Jacobs, better known as Little Walter, was the king of the post war blues harmonica. Tried of having his harmonica overwhelmed by amplified guitars, he adopted a cupped microphone technique and played through public address systems and combo amplifiers, ultimately pushing the limits of tone and distortion into an entirely new musical vocabulary. His musical virtuosity and influence allowed him to be the first predominant harmonica player to be inducted in 2008 to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame - Doug May
